The GP is a young woman with a bright smile. She is wearing Louboutins, I notice, which seems an odd choice for work attire in a primary care practice in a dirty south London street, the waiting room of which is stuffed full of the great unwashed. The room is standard NHS GP: a plastic chair facing out next to a desk so you can’t see your own information on the computer screen unless the GP turns the screen. ‘How can I help?’ She doesn’t look up from the computer.
