'I knew I had to find a similar series to keep my White Lotus withdrawals at bay'
After binge watching ‘The Resort’ in just over one night, the series completely took me by surprise in an incredible and unforgettable way just as The White Lotus did.
The White Lotus became one of the most talked about shows of the year in 2021 and was rewarded with a whopping 20 Emmy nominations. The Resort shares much in common with The White Lotus, even down to its opening few frames.Last weekend, I was contemplating re-watching The White Lotus for a second time before I decided to search ‘series like The White Lotus’ and that’s when ‘The Resort’ came up in a selection of similar series.
The mystery series ‘The Resort’, created by Andy Siara, was actually released in July 2022 but I have only just discovered it and I’m so glad I did. Without giving any spoilers away, the show stars Cristin Milioti and William Jackson Harper as Emma and Noah, a pair of holidaymakers whose marriage has fizzled out in the most boring of ways; he comments on her bad breath, she rolls her eyes at his love for napping and does internet quizzes on whether she should leave him.
