“He hasn’t fought for over a year-and-a-half. Sat out. Not injured. I don’t get how he just slides in for the world title shot when there’s other guys in the division that have been active and fighting. Didn’t sit out.Covington hasn’t fought since picking up a dominant decision win over his former friend-turned bitter rival Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272 in March 2022.
Covington has kept a low profile ever since but now seems ready to fight again and will get his third undisputed title shot later this year.
