'We bring all men together no matter where they are from, what they do or how much is in their bank account. None of that matters.' | ✍️ Scott Oughton-Johnson

I created The Proper Blokes Club in September 2020, a space for men to talk about their mental health, while going on walks together through London ‘I’m around if you need to talk or want to go for a walk?’

I started the club due to my own issues over the last 10 years – arising from difficulty gaining access to my three children.CBT therapyThis helped as I was talking to someone that didn’t judge me. I wouldn’t open up to friends or family about it so having weekly sessions with someone neutral helped but I only had six sessions before that support ceased.

I get to see great friendships grow around me all the time and see people who would not normally mix come together for this great group. There’s no pressure to disclose the reason for joining; you can participate as much or little as you want. We create a safe environment to open up as and when we want to.
