Ibrahima Konate will undergo a scan after limping out of Liverpool’s friendly defeat by Strasbourg at Anfield.
Konate headed straight down the tunnel with Sepp van den Berg replacing him but Jurgen Klopp is hopeful that further assessment will establish that the defender has only suffered a minor issue. A day after beating Manchester City 3-1 in the Community Shield, Klopp fielded a youthful line up, including eight teenagers, for the club’s final friendly against Strasbourg, who punished some sloppy errors to run out 3-0 winners.
He adds: “Naby is ill and Curtis felt something a little bit and we couldn’t take any risks. All of a sudden the team was really young and we play a really strong Strasbourg side.
