A newly-formed professional opera company will put on its first immersive show in Barton.

The Pop-In Opera Company’s condensed version of The Magic Flute and more popular opera favourites will be performed at Barton Manor Hotel and Spa on Thursday 13 July.Pop-In Opera wants to create a new immersive opera concert experience Manager Wendy Sharrock said: “We are producing a shortened opera where much of the singing and action happens within the audience and is explained throughout.“We will include any young budding actors/singers within some of the scenes if they arrive at 6.45pm on the night, which makes it an evening for the whole family.”The audience will be seated in an informal cabaret arrangement, with canapés served on arrival at 7pm. A bar will be open before and after the performance, which begins at 7.

Wendy continued: “I am very keen to prove that opera is for everyone. Many opera favourites are constantly in adverts and film and audiences have no idea its opera they are listening to.”
