A broadcasting commission in the West Java province of Indonesia has placed a ban on more than a dozen songs from the west that authorities say contain adult and offensive content.outlines how a list of 85 songs, including 17 western songs, have been identified by the West Java broadcasting commission for containing what was deemed to be adult and offensive content.
Commission head Dedeh Fardiah said some of the lyrics could be construed as “objectifying women as sexual objects”.Some of the songs on the list include Ed Sheeran's 'Shape of You', Bruno Mars’ 'Versace on the Floor' and Ariana Grande’s 'Love Me Harder'. The commission did say that the list was more of a guideline than a regulation, but it cautioned it could sanction radio and television stations for not following the guidelines.
