A Lancashire chef who set up his own inventive restaurant concept has reached the semi-finals of a top industry cooking award. Steven Halligan, the chef patron at Restaurant Metamorphica in Haslingden is one step away from the final of the National Chef of the Year competition.

We refine and change our menu on a weekly, sometimes daily basis, so the guests are never stuck eating the same menu when they return.
The main dish had to be cooked from two cuts of lamb and the dessert brief was to serve a portion of warm or cold chocolate with a savoury twist.
