The fire broke out around 4 a.m. Thursday in West Deptford Township.

Multiple residents were taken to hospitals for treatment after a two-alarm fire destroyed a pair of homes in West Deptford Township early Thursday.

Fire crews responded to Tatum Street for a house fire around 4 a.m. and the quickly discovered that the fire had spread to the second residence. Crews worked to ensure all occupants were accounted for, but questions remain over the whereabouts of two people,Firefighters battled the blaze for hours in freezing temperatures. The fire was placed under control around 7 a.m.
