IRELAND INTERNATIONAL KATIE McCabe limped off in the closing minutes as Arsenal came from behind to book their place in the Women’s Champions League semi-finals, knocking out Bayern Munich 2-1 on aggregate thanks to a 2-0 win at the Emirates.
McCabe’s injury was a sour note on a brilliant night for the club as Arsenal overcame a 1-0 first leg defeat to reach the last four for the first time in 10 years in front of a record crowd of over 20,000 for a Women’s Champions League game in England. But last season’s runners-up stormed into a 3-0 lead before half-time in front of 55,000 at the Camp Nou.
Annamaria Serturini pulled one back for Roma against a Barcelona side who have won 100 percent of their games in the Spanish league and only suffered one defeat all season, against Bayern in the group phase.
