Uncle Sam's research nerve center DARPA is known for championing all kinds of breakthrough technologies. Might semiconductors be part of that? You might be right.
Earlier this year, DARPA in conjunction with the Semiconductor Research Corporation and organizations from industry and academia launched the Joint University Microelectronics Program 2.0.represents DARPA's effort to improve electronics through enhanced performance, efficiency and capabilities. The project seeks to advance the state of the art in various aspects of technology, including software and hardware design.
