The brand new music video got us all sobbing with its emotional inside meaning. In the visual Miley can be seen standing belting out the heartbreakingly personal lyrics. The song is all about the public scrutiny she’s faced over the years from Disney child star to her now 30-year-old self.Miley left the beloved Disney show back in 2011 which resulted in her completely changing up her image to one that received much controversial criticism from media and fans alike.
Many fans spotted the Mickey Mouse t-shirt the songstress sported almost immediately. While she wanted to say goodbye to Disney back in 2011, she’s now embracing that time of her life by paying tribute to the show that launched her career.by singing the show’s iconic transition melody.The 30-year-old shared a teaser for the new song on August 18th. She revealed the release date for the new song is very important to her personally and professionally.
The lyrics for Used To Be Young are a love letter to the child star’s career from her early teens through her twenties.
