Oscars' red carpet preps ramp up for the big night. he Academy Awards crews have started putting together the big stage since Wednesday. The Oscars will take place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California on Sunday.
Jennifer Lawrence and Emily Blunt were among the many A-listers at rehearsals on Saturday for the upcoming 96th Academy Awards.
The 77-year-old film director had an envelope in his hand as he practiced presenting an award ahead of the real thing on Sunday. America Ferrera, 39, and Kate McKinnon, 40, who both looked stunning as they opted out of makeup for their read-through, were seen rehearsing on stage together around the same time Ryan Gosling prepared for his performance of I'm Just Ken.
Anya Taylor-Joy, 27, looked stunning in a sleeveless button-down crop top and her bare-faced beauty on display while rehearsing with the teleprompter. Steven Spielberg bundled up in a cozy bomber jacket and crochet scarf as he also took the stage for the award ceremony, which will be hosted by talk show host Jimmy Kimmel at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 10. Issa Rae, their co-star in Barbie, which received a total of nine nominations, looked effortlessly stylish in a pair of sunglasses and casual tracksuit as she rehearsed her lines. Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, 37, looked incredible in an eccentric look while reading through her part. She donned a purple and pink rugby shirt layered underneath an orange-brown, suede jacket. She sported bold green glasses and gold jewelry as she radiated sunshine on stage
Last year's other smash hit movie - Barbie - was nominated for eight awards, but also fell victim to notable snubs from the Academy.What Was I Made For and I'm Just Ken from Barbie received their expected nominations for best original song The second most-nominated movie was Poor Things, a graphic art house movie starring Emma Stone that has wowed critics but so-far failed to set the box office alight.
Annette Bening, Lily Gladstone, Sandra Huller, Carey Mulligan and Emma Stone have been nominated for best actress in a leading role. Emily Blunt, Danielle Brooks, America Ferrera, Jodie Foster and Da'Vine Joy Randolph received nominations for best actress in a supporting role.
