Mark Wogan announced the sad news on Friday that his mother, Lady Helen Wogan, had died at the age of 88, eight years after her beloved husband Terry Wogan passed away
Terry Wogan ’s son revealed his hope that the iconic television broadcaster would be reunited with his wife Lady Helen Wogan, following the sad news of her death.
“A strength and a belief that saw her through many of life’s trials. A sense of humour and a turn of phrase that would have you in fits of laughter. A proper lady in every sense of the word,” Mark added, as he sweetly touched upon his parents’ loving relationship. Lady Helen was a famous Irish model when she married Sir Terry in April 1965. Their wedding, which was held at her local parish church in Rathmines, Dublin, was one of the biggest celebrity weddings at the time.
