Kevin Mulhern swapped life in Donegal for New York City after catching the bug while on a summer trip back in 2010.
He said: "When I came over in the summer of 2010, I fell in love with New York right away - I was living in Woodlawn during that time. I worked as a server in a Midtown bar called DJ Reynolds before I went back home, and finished college, but I always wanted to get back to the States. I just loved the buzz of New York.
"I put in the graft and then the opportunity came up for me to become a partner in Haswell Green's in March 2018. Five years later, we're still here." "We always love to take care of Irish people that visit the city," he added. "We're well established now especially within the Irish community, we do one of the biggest Paddy's Days in New York City. A mate of mine from Enniskillen, Sean Magee, comes out every year.
And for anyone dreaming of moving to New York, Kevin said you just have to go for it, adding that the local Irish community is always ready to welcome others with open arms.
