AquaB was incorporated as a UCD “spin-out company”, a system whereby the college gets a shareholding with the inventors for any commercialisation of research inventions. This included Dr Favier’s failure to produce a business plan and demands for a greater share in AquaB Dr Ghanni resigned from AquaB in March 2022 and later left UCD to take up a position in TCD, he said.
