Authorities released photos of the robber on social media and asked for tips from the public.
Police and the FBI asked for tips from the public to help find a bicycle-riding bandit who robbed a Linden bank at gunpoint on Wednesday afternoon.
The robber handed a teller a note demanding money and pulled a handgun around 12:30 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Bank on West Saint Georges Avenue in Linden, according to a statement from the FBI’s Newark field office. Authorities said the robber was spotted riding a black mountain bike with chrome handlebars and silver wheels after the holdup. He was described as wearing a surgical mask, thin and about 5-10 inches tall.
The FBI and Linden police released surveillance images of the person on social media. Anyone with information was asked to call the FBI at 973-792-3000, Linden police at 908-474-8558 or
