The Republic of Ireland and the UK look set to co-host Uefa Euro 2028 after Turkey withdrew from the bidding process to host the tournament.
"We are looking forward to presenting our bid to UEFA on 10th October. These are exciting times, and we have a very compelling EURO 2028 proposal for UEFA.
"Our bid is ground-breaking for the Men’s European Championships and will deliver lasting legacies across the whole of Ireland and the UK. "We will share full details of the bid in Nyon next week and are confident that UEFA will approve our candidacy to host EURO 2028."In the past, host nations qualified automatically for the Europen Championships. As there are five host countries for Euro 2032, however, no team will qualify automatically for the tournament, according to reports.
If three or four nations fail to qualify automatically, the two teams with the best qualification record will take the reserved spots.The 2028 UEFA EURO’s is set to be awarded to the UK and Ireland as hosts following Turkey’s decision to pull out of the bidding process.
