The impact of Storm Éowyn and Herminia leaves Ireland facing strong winds, showers, and weather warnings.

Ireland is grappling with the aftermath of two consecutive storms, Éowyn and Herminia, which brought strong winds and heavy downpours over the weekend. As Monday morning dawns, a number of counties are under weather warnings due to the persistent blustery conditions. A Status Yellow wind warning is in effect for Cork, Kerry, and Waterford, issued at 11 pm on Sunday night and remaining active until 9 am this morning.

Met Éireann, Ireland's national meteorological service, warns of 'strong and gusty winds' that could cause further damage to already weakened structures and trees, creating 'dangerous travelling conditions.' Wexford is also under a Status Yellow wind alert, valid until 2 pm this afternoon. The day ahead promises a mix of showers and dry spells, with temperatures ranging from 5 to 10 degrees Celsius, coolest in the northwest. As night falls, temperatures will drop significantly, with lows between 2 and 6 degrees Celsius. Showery outbreaks of rain will persist, and winds will strengthen overnight, becoming strong to near gale force in southwestern counties by morning. Tuesday will continue the pattern with sunny spells interspersed with scattered showers, with longer spells of rain possible in some areas. Temperatures will peak between 6 and 9 degrees Celsius, but fresh and gusty northwest winds, particularly strong over Munster and west Connacht, will prevail. Looking ahead to the rest of the week, a gradual warming trend is anticipated, with milder temperatures expected for Friday and the weekend. While many areas can anticipate decent dry spells, showers are likely in the far north and west. There are indications of increased unsettled conditions over the weekend
