Ireland boss hails players as they battle through 'chaos'

Ireland will face some of the top teams in Europe next year for a spot at Euro 2025, but they do so with a play-off spot guaranteed if needed.

Ireland battled through “absolute chaos” on Tuesday night to secure promotion to League A and a coveted Euro 2025 play-off spot.

“The first-half was absolute chaos, the players were absolutely soaked, you literally couldn’t walk on the pitch, never mind try and play football. “So I will give real credit to the girls to be able to do that after the first-half, after a long break, and to come back out and show that after a long period of time.”

“We got some good players coming through and we have players out injured, so there is starting to be real competitiveness in the team with players with different attributes to allow us to have flexibility with how we play.” Meanwhile, Denise O'Sullivan says there will be no let-up in December when Ireland complete their Nations League campaign - despite securing promotion and a Euro 2025 play-off spot with two games to spare.
