Ireland are on the verge of securing their third consecutive Test victory after dominating the one-off match against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. Matthew Humphreys's three-wicket haul on Sunday further crippled Zimbabwe's chase, leaving them needing another 109 runs for victory.

Matthew Humphreys claimed three wickets on Sunday as Ireland moved closer to victory over Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. Ireland require just three more wickets to secure their one-off Test against Zimbabwe and extend their winning streak in the longer format to three matches. Andy Balbirnie's team head into the fifth and final day in Bulawayo with the hosts reeling at 183 for seven, chasing a target of 292.

Four wickets tumbled during Sunday's play, which was interrupted by poor light and inclement weather. Humphreys, Ireland's left-arm spinner, claimed three of those wickets, taking his match figures to four for 41. He dismissed Brian Bennett (45), captain Johnathan Campbell (33) and Nyasha Mayavo (eight), while Barry McCarthy bowled Trevor Gwandu in the first over of the day. \Wessly Madhevere's maiden half-century provided the backbone of Zimbabwe's response. However, with another 109 runs needed by the home team, Madhevere, who remains unbeaten on 61, will have to significantly increase his contribution to force a compelling finish. Ireland triumphed over the same opponents in their previous Test in Belfast last July and also defeated Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi five months earlier.
