A Status Yellow high temperature warningMet Éireann is forecasting very warm and humid weather, with daytime temperatures of more than 27C in many areas away from coasts.Potential impacts from the hot weather could include:Cathal Nolan of Ireland's Weather Channel has said there is a chance of reaching a record heat today.
"During the course of the afternoon in one or two locations those temperatures will push a little bit higher, so maybe 28/29C," he said. "There is the outside chance that we may see temperatures pushing up as high as 30C, which of course - if it does reach that level - it could be the all-time record for the month of September broken.
"I think the areas of the country that will see the hottest weather are probably parts of northern inland Munster, maybe parts of the Midlands as well."The highest temperatures will occur typically between around 1pm up until about 4pm," he added.
