Ireland will be hotter than Madrid and Rome this week, with the country set to experience some unseasonably warm weather over the coming days
Following the brutal deep freeze last week which saw temperatures around the country plummet as low as -8C, a dramatic weather change is on the cards with Ireland set to be 'one of the warmest countries in Europe' today.
Temperatures will remain in the low teens throughout the week, with the thermometer tipping 14C on Tuesday, meaning Ireland will be warmer tomorrow than traditional hotspot such as Madrid, Athens and Rome. The current forecast suggests that it will be generally cloudy on Tuesday but Met Eireann has said that a few sunny interludes are possible. It will be largely dry but there'll be some areas of mist and drizzle, especially in southern coastal areas, with maximum temperatures set to range from 11C to 14C in moderate to fresh southwest winds.
It will remain largely dry on Wednesday night with clear spells and just a few mist or fog patches, with lowest temperatures of 6C to 9C in moderate southerly winds.
