Ireland touched back down in Dublin this evening.
Ireland's rugby team have returned home to Dublin after bowing out of this year's Rugby World Cup quarter-finals to New Zealand.
Andy Farrell’s side exited the competition on Saturday night in Paris at the same stage they did four years ago with another defeat to the All Blacks. However, the squad seemed in high sports on their return at Dublin Airport this evening as they took time out to pose for photos with fans waiting to show their support. After the game on Saturday, Ireland had confirmation that stars Johnny Sexton and Keith Earls will now retire from the sport."They're two lads I'll tell my kids about someday. You look up to them as people and as family men as well as what you see on the pitch,” he said.
"They're two heroes of Irish rugby. I remember watching them when I was coming up through school and being in awe of them and then getting to play with them is a dream come true. "I still feel a bit of a child around them. I'm still in a bit of awe getting to play with them but it's sad it's over.Get the latest sports headlines straight to your inbox by signing up for free email alerts.
