Ireland's Fittest Family contestant Cillian O'Flaherty died suddenly at his home on October 21, 2024
Ireland's Fittest Family coach Anna Geary has said tragic star Cillian O’Flaherty was a “perfect candidate” on the show.

Speaking at the launch of Lindahls' ‘Good Move’ Campaign at Perpetua Fitness, Lennox Street in Dublin, which highlights that 85 per cent of adults in Ireland would like to eat healthier and more nutritious food, she said people watching the series, probably “hugged their kids tighter”. “I think as a family, they can be so proud that you know that they were part of something amazing, and they'll always have that with them. I think even for us, from a production point of view, it was at the beginning when you weren't sure was it going to go ahead.
“My thoughts are with them. They are extremely strong people. They're strong characters. They're strong minded, like Paula as a competitor…she is one of the fiercest competitors - male, female, young, old - that we've ever had. Like, what she did in that bog. She dragged herself on her own through it, she was literally lifting up her legs.
