The most successful Irish team to ever compete at an Olympic Games will return home to a warm welcome today.
Around 60 athletes will arrive at Dublin Airport this morning before being whisked into the city centre for a civic reception on O’Connell Street.The free public event starts at the GPO at 12:30pm; however, traffic restrictions will be in place around town from 9:30am.
Buses will be diverted from O'Connell Street from 10 am, and the Luas Green Line will be suspended between Dominic St and St Stephen's Green until 10pm tonight. He’ll thank each of them and ask them to imagine the inspiration they have ignited in young girls and boys across Ireland.
