The mercury is set to tip 23 degrees at the warmest point of today, according to Met Éireann, making it ever so slightly warmer than highs of 21 degrees expected in the French capital

Ireland is set to continue to bask in some autumn sunshine on Tuesday, with highest temperatures forecast to eclipse those of Paris on another glorious day.

The mercury is set to tip 23 degrees at the warmest point of today, according to Met Éireann, making it ever so slightly warmer than highs of 21 degrees expected in the French capital. Met Eireann’s forecast is nearly identical on each day from Tuesday through until Friday, with only slight changes day by day. Highest temperatures will reach 22 or 23 degrees amid dry conditions with lengthy spells of sunshine every day from now to the weekend, though there is a possibility it will be “a little cloudier later on Friday along the east coast”.

Similar conditions are in store for Monday, with highest temperatures dropping to around 17 degrees, with next week eventually set to take a turn for the worse as “it's likely to become more unsettled over the following days with outbreaks of rain, turning heavy at times”.Any mist and fog will clear early this morning to leave a dry, pleasant day with long spells of warm sunshine.
