A prominent Irish weather expert warns of a potential 'conveyor belt of Atlantic storms' impacting Ireland next week, with heavy rain and strong winds anticipated. Temperatures are also expected to drop below freezing in some areas of the country.
A prominent Irish weather expert says it is possible Ireland could suffer "direct hits" from a "conveyor belt of Atlantic storms" next week.
Alan's latest update comes only days after other weather aficionados predicted a so-called 'Beast from the East' striking Ireland next week. And whilst this has been somewhat downplayed since, Met Eireann has confirmed that next week will see a return of sub-zero temperatures to some parts of the country.
Met Eireann National Outlook: Sunday night will start off mostly cloudy with patchy light rain or drizzle, which will become confined mainly to Leinster and Munster overnight. Some clear intervals will develop to the west and north. Lowest temperatures of 4°C to 8°C with light to moderate southwest winds.
Wednesday will be quite cold with bright or sunny spells and well scattered showers, these mainly in the west and north. Highest temperatures of 4°C to 9°C with light variable breezes. Wednesday night will be cold and mainly dry with frost in many areas. Lowest temperatures of -2°C to 3°C.
