Meteorological Service of Ireland (Met Eireann) forecasts higher than usual temperatures for this time of year, with daytime highs reaching double digits but plummeting to subzero levels at night. The forecast predicts mostly dry and settled conditions for the upcoming week, with some rain expected next weekend. Temperatures are expected to remain above normal for the following week as well.

Met Eireann has stated that temperatures are expected to be “higher than normal” for this time of year.

Between Monday, 3 February to Sunday, 9 February, there will be high pressure to the east and low pressure to the northwest, with a signal for higher than normal temperature values for the time of year. Monday, 3 February Rather cloudy but mostly dry with a few sunny spells in the east. A little rain will drift in over western counties, becoming more persistent later this afternoon and slowly spreading east this evening. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with fresh southerly winds.

Becoming mostly dry with long clear spells as showers become isolated early in the night and become mostly confined to Atlantic coasts. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees with some frost and ice forming in light to moderate southwest breezes.
