Met Éireann has forecast highs of 25°C over the weekend but warned the next week could see some heavy rain

Met Éireann has promised scorching highs of up to 25°C over the weekend but warned that some heavy rain is in store for next week.

Through the late afternoon cloud will build from the southwest with outbreaks of rain developing along the southwest coast by evening time. Highest temperatures of 17°C to 22°C in a moderate to fresh southwest wind but winds strong along coasts and reaching near gale force along the northwest coast.
