The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) is implementing changes to enhance the game day experience at the Aviva Stadium for Ireland's Six Nations opener against England. Responding to concerns over low noise levels at recent Test matches, the IRFU promises improvements based on fan feedback from the November Autumn Series. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, with gates opening two hours before kick-off, to enjoy entertainment including a live screening of the Scotland-Italy match and DJ Mark McCabe's performance. While alcohol purchasing won't be restricted, the IRFU urges mindful fan behavior and requests movement only during breaks in play.
The IRFU is trying to rekindle the atmosphere at the Aviva Stadium for Ireland 's Six Nations opener against England.
From that information the IRFU promises to enhance the game day experience and is urging supporters to arrive early for Saturday afternoon's encounter, with gates opening two hours ahead of the 4.45pm kick-off. Despite complaints by a section of supporters about disruptions caused by other fans leaving and returning to their seats to buy alcohol, there will be no limits on doing so.
“We’ve listened closely to the feedback from our fans in November and we’ve made some exciting changes to improve the overall experience,” said Aoife Clarke, the IRFU communications director. We want our fans to create an electric atmosphere from the moment they walk through the gates.
