The heroic boy who saved a teen girl from an attempted abduction by a gang of men has spoken out for the first time.
The youngster saw three men grabbing an 18-year-old girl and attempting to pull her into their van on Lecky Road in Co Derry.Tiernan revealed he “was scared” throughout the whole ordeal, but now it’s over he “feels good” for helping. “I just started shouting as I got closer,” he added. “The girl finally got loose and we ran up this wee alley where people drink and there are loads of smashed bottles, so I cut my finger.
A spokesperson added: “This doesn’t go anywhere near to paying off the debt our community owes this boy. “When he came in the door he was shaking, his hand was pouring with blood and boggin, and he was frightened,” she said.“I am really proud of him and what big heart he has.
