An Irish broadcaster is accused of sexually defiling a 16-year-old girl on the stairwell of his then place of work.
The court heard how the pair had previously met and exchanged phone numbers at an Eminem concert at the Oxegen 2010 festival. The accused gave her his phone number and the pair texted for a few weeks, Ms Brennan said. Ms Brennan said that the complainant “initially told him she was 18 but then told him that she was 16.”
Later then in 2010 the complainant got a Luas into the city centre and met the man before going to a house he was residing in and on that occasion they also engaged in sexual activity in which he put his penis in her mouth, the court heard. A few minutes later she said he came up behind her, they started talking briefly and they then kissed before he left. They stayed in contact, she said and texted one another for a while “getting to know each other.”
She said he asked again about her age and sent a text saying “sweet 16” along with a question mark - to which she responded yes. The woman said she “came clean then,” and they continued talking. They met in Dublin and walked around for a bit, she said, before he said he “had to get something from the office,” so they went there to get that. She said he opened the door to the offices and it looked as though no one was in the reception area.
