The Irish father of an eight-year-old girl being held hostage in Gaza sent her a powerful message telling her to 'be strong'.
But three weeks later he was informed that she could still be alive as officials said there was no DNA evidence of her death found at the scene, meaning Emily is now believed to be held hostage in Gaza.And in an emotional interview with ABC News on Wednesday, Thomas sent a powerful message of hope to his daughter Emily, saying he believes they will get her home."You will survive it. We'll get you home and never let you out of our sights again.
Thomas Hand made headlines around the world when he initially told CNN that he was relieved that his daughter had been killed in the attack as the thought of her being kidnapped by Hamas was too much to take. “I don't know how terrified she is just being taken away. Being taken out of the kibbutz, taken to Gaza, down into the tunnels of Gaza, that's a creepy, scary place.The Irish-Israeli girl, whose mother died of breast cancer five years ago, is set to turn nine next week on November 17.
