The grant has recently been updated with Minister for Housing, Darragh O’Brien urging people to take advantage of it.
Irish households are being urged to apply for a grant that could see them receive up to €5000 if eligible.
How to qualify for the grant? There are a number of criteria to qualify for the Domestic Lead Remediation Grant, RSVP reports. On top of this, you must live in the property as your normal place of residence and if you rent the property, you must have the owner’s permission to get the work done.If your drinking water comes through lead pipes that are outside the boundaries of your property, they must also be replaced.
However, you can include the cost of getting proof from a laboratory or a registered building professional that you have lead pipes up to a maximum of €200.
