A lung cancer screening pilot will get underway in Ireland this year, as part of a wider European Union-funded lung screening programme, the Business Post can reveal.

Strengthening the screening of Lung Cancer in Europe is a new health project funded under the EU4Health programme. The EU wide programme, which will be launched next week, will promote the use of Low-Dose Computed Tomography scans as means of screening for lung cancer.
