We were given a glimpse into what it’s like for the emergency services to respond to 999 calls across Dublin.
The Irish Mirror spent several hours with members of the fire brigade at the weekend – just days before Halloween.
Members who arrived on the scene first were heard on the radio asking for “APs” – Advanced Paramedics. We were told this usually meant that the collision was serious. While there, reports began surfacing that a person had got stuck in a river in Poddle Park and had to be rescued. A printed piece of paper gave scant details of reports of a bonfire and a location. The same information was also on a screen they looked at as they got into their overalls.
