A 66-year-old Irish pub barman is fighting for his life after two thugs, disguised as Amazon delivery workers, brutally attacked him in his own home. George 'Dirk' Hardison, a bartender at O'Connell's Irish Pub in Savannah , Georgia, was lured to the door on Saturday morning, expecting a package. The attackers, wearing convincing Amazon uniforms, forced their way in and savagely beat him with a sledgehammer for eight excruciating minutes.

Chilling security footage captured Dirk's desperate cries for help during the assault.Neighbors who came to his rescue found him soaked in blood with severe head injuries. He was rushed to the hospital, where he received 14 staples to his head. The assailants made off with just $80 following the vicious attack, captured fleeing with a package in security footage. Police are appealing for witnesses as they search for the perpetrators, described as two black males in their 20s with medium brown skin tones, wearing what appeared to be Amazon gear and masks. In support of Dirk, O'Connell's Pub, where he works as a bartender, has launched a GoFundMe page, saying: 'The police are investigating this heinous crime, but in the meantime, let's show Dirk the love and support he deserves.' Amazon has released a statement regarding the incident, confirming that the individuals were not making a scheduled delivery. The company emphasized that they monitor the internet for unauthorized Amazon apparel and take action to have it removed. They added that Amazon delivery personnel do not routinely knock on doors or ask customers to sign for packages unless already prearranged. This incident follows a series of similar crimes, including the arrest of a fake firefighter who allegedly used his disguise to steal during the devastating LA wildfires. The suspected thief was apprehended wearing an outdated California Fire jacket amidst the chaos, raising concerns about individuals exploiting emergencies for personal gain. The LAPD also reportedly arrested an alleged accomplice nearby. Both were taken into custody close to the Getty Villa, which narrowly escaped the flames. It remains unclear if they were found with any stolen items.
