Finally, it returns!!
Irish Rail has confirmed a date for the return of the beloved trolley service, which was halted during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Finally, confirmation has been given by Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Transport, James O’Connor TD, who said the on-board catering services on Irish Rail services are due to return in March.Irish Rail CEO Jim Meade has reportedly assured Deputy O’Connor that services will be back from the end of next month, albeit on a phased basis.
Deputy O’Connor said: “I’m delighted that Irish Rail has confirmed restoration of on-board train catering will be taking place in the coming months. “It is understood the reinstatement of the service will be done on a phased basis commencing with the Dublin-Cork line servicing Portlaoise, Portarlington, Thurles, Limerick Junction, and Mallow."
