A star-studded crowd gathered for the Irish premiere of Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove at Dublin's Bord Gais Energy Theatre, celebrating the first ever stage adaptation of the legendary film.
Irish celebrities turned out in force for the Irish premiere of Stanley Kubrick's Dr Strangelove at Dublin's Bord Gais Energy Theatre on Thursday evening. Seven-time BAFTA Award winner Steve Coogan leads the first ever stage adaptation of the legendary film-maker's work, playing the lead role. He is joined by Olivier Award Winner Giles Terera, who portrays the character of General Buck Turgidson. This jet-black comedy masterpiece, about a rogue U.S.
General who triggers a nuclear crisis, has been brought to the stage by acclaimed BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Armando Iannucci and Olivier Award winner Sean Foley in an explosively funny satire of mutually assured destruction. Popular radio presenter Tracy Clifford graced the red carpet with her fiancé Mark. Fellow radio presenters Zeinab Elguzouli, Matt Cooper, Colm Hayes, Ray Foley, Dave Moore, Sean Moncrieff and Ian Dempsey were also present at the event. Comedians Ardal O'Hanlon and Bernard O'Shea were spotted enjoying the show alongside actor and presenter Simon Delaney, who stopped for pictures.
