Irish weather: Ireland to be as hot as Portugal this weekend, but there is a major difference

Met Eireann have forecast highs of 24 degrees and sunny and dry spells in parts of the country over the next few days, though rain may linger in some parts of the island. While it may be hard to believe, Ireland's weather will actually be on par with spots in Portugal, as the country enjoys temperatures of 24-24 degrees.

It will be cloudy at times near the south coast and there is a chance of some showers developing there later. Highest temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees with light to moderate northeasterly winds, fresher at times near eastern coasts. Saturday Sunny spells developing after early low cloud, mist and fog clears through the morning and afternoon. Some showery rain may occur in parts of Leinster and Munster with the chance of thunderstorms, but overall there will be a good deal of dry weather.Sunday Mostly cloudy on Sunday with scattered showers feeding in from the north. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees, warmest further south, with mostly moderate northwest breezes.
