Visitors to Fota Wildlife Park in Cork can expect to hear a few more roars after it announced the birth of four Asian lion cubs on Thursday.
The newborns will join their three older siblings, Amira, Arya and Loki, as well as their aunt Gita, at the specially designed habitat at the wildlife park. Asian lions are an endangered species with just an estimated 500 left living in the wild in their natural Gir Forest habitat in India. They are also the only species of lion in the world to live outside sub-Saharan Africa.
She said: “We are thrilled with the arrival of this litter of four Asian lion cubs at Fota Wildlife Park.
