A renowned swimmer, table tennis player and golfer, Margo, who passed away aged 94, was Longford Golf Club Lady Captain in 1971 and the club’s First Lady President in 1996.
A mother of 12’s beloved dog paid a final poignant tribute to her as it followed her hearse to her graveside when she was laid to rest earlier this week.
Margo Magan, from Killashee in Longford passed away on Friday, December 30 surrounded by her family in the care of the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar. In a heartbreaking photo taken by Margo’s grandniece Tamara Gervasoni, Margo’s beloved dog was pictured leading the mourners behind the hearse as Margo’s remains were brought to Killashee Cemetery for burial after her funeral Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Killashee last Monday.“We said our final goodbye to our remarkable mum Margo at 94. She loved her dog. Mother of 12. Champion swimmer, holder of many titles/records, top golfer, 1st female president of a golf club in Ireland.
