All systems are go for Marymass from next week.
The biggest event of the year in Irvine is fast approaching and Marymass will officially get underway with the traditional opening ceremony in the Townhouse on Thursday, August 15.
The annual Carters’ Fourth Port Parade takes place on Saturday, August 17, from noon around the streets of Fullarton and Harbourside.A toddler film club is at the Harbour Arts Centre on the same day, from 10am. The event is free but bookings must be made in advance.A festival of light parade will leave Bridgegate at 9pm, arriving at Irvine Moor half an hour later and a fireworks display will be staged at the Moor from 9.45pm.
Greenfingers should note that the Marymass Garden competition is beind held during the festival. First prize is £30, second £20 and third £15.
