Former UFC commentator Joe Rogan and Brendan Schaub believe that Conor McGregor's MMA career is likely at an end. Despite McGregor's insistence on returning to the Octagon, Rogan and Schaub point to McGregor's recent partying and legal troubles as signs that his fighting days may be over.
Conor McGregor has received the grim news that his UFC career may be officially over. It's been four years since the Irishman last stepped into the Octagon, his last fight ending in a devastating leg break against Dustin Poirier during their trilogy clash. Despite initial plans to return last June facing Michael Chandler, McGregor was forced to withdraw after suffering a toe injury during training.
Though McGregor insists on a comeback, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub and veteran commentator Joe Rogan believe his time in the MMA world is likely finished. Schaub expressed this sentiment on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, stating, 'The ship has sailed. It's like, we want him to come back it ain't happening.' Rogan echoed this sentiment, adding, 'Well he knows too.' Rogan had previously expressed concerns about McGregor's future in the sport after his publicized legal battle last year. He commented, 'I don't know if Conor is ever gonna fight again. I don't know the real details of . I know his version of it, and her version of it, and what played out in the court. The reality is that guy's partying, and he's partying real hard, and he talked about it in the court case, he's talking about cocaine.' Dana White, the UFC President, had previously expressed confidence that McGregor would return to the Octagon in 2025. However, he recently offered no update on McGregor's potential comeback during a UFC Fight Night 250 post-fight press conference, simply stating, 'Conor? Um… Not sure when Conor will be back.
