The UK's foreign office has said it is 'disappointed' that the Rafah crossing has been 'temporarily closed'. Jordanian foreign minister Ayman Safadi has accused Israel of 'committing war crimes'.
In the last few moments the Met Police have issued an update on arrests made today during the pro-Palestine demonstrations.The force said a total of 29 arrests were made and nine of those were public order offences.Two of the 29 arrests were for breaching section 12 of the Terrorism Act in relation to the wording of a banner.
Commander Karen Findlay, who is responsible for policing in London this week, said the arrests and overall policing posture reflected a sharpened, and proactive, intervention approach to the weekend’s events.She said: 'The vast majority of people demonstrated peacefully during an extremely busy day in central London, with protests in a number of locations requiring a policing presence.
