As Ramadan begins, the need for more humanitarian aid in Gaza is becoming increasingly desperate. As countries step up airdrops, the first ship due to set sail on a new maritime aid corridor was stalled today due to ‘technical difficulties’.

It is northern Gaza which faces the most acute need, cut off from the rest of the strip by Israeli checkpoints and with a reported collapse of law and order.
