Ben played Ryan Connor on Coronation Street from 2006 as he was discovered by his birth parents, Nick and Wendy Neeson, due to a mix-up at the hospital. Believing Michelle Connor and Dean to be his parents due to the hospital error, the truth later emerged about his 'true' parentage. Feeling resentful towards Michelle for her ignorance of him and her knowledge of Nick and Wendy's biological son Alex Neeson, Ryan also distanced himself from his biological parents.
After originally portraying Ryan from 2006 until 2010, the character was recast upon Ryan's return. Sol Heras stepped into the role in 2012 briefly, followed by Ryan Prescott taking up the mantle in 2018, a role he continues in today. Now, it's actor Ryan Prescott who embodies Ryan Connor, having recently been central to a major plotline involving an acid attack intended for another character, which left Ryan's life changed forever.
