The cinema legend is known for a lot of things, but for many of us Black’s most iconic role will always be when he played Dewey Finn. For those of you who haven’t seen the film, Finn is a struggling rock guitarist, who takes up a role as a substitute teacher impersonating his roomate, actual teacher Ned Schneebly, at a private school in order to be able to pay his rent.
The story that ensues sees the character train up his class of fourth-graders in an attempt to win a Battle of the Bands contest. The film was a humongous triumph, and holds a close place in many viewers’ hearts.However, in a new interview with JOE, Black has confirmed that it is something he would love to do.Interestingly, ‘Electric Boogaloo’ is the title of a sequel that came out 40 years ago. It was the title of the movie that followed a cult break-dancing film called Breakin’.
