Tony Mowbray’s side are keen to bank a huge profit on the winger after signing him for an initial fee of under £1million in 2022.Clarke has scored seven goals in 12 appearances across all competitions, spearheading Sunderland’s charge into fourth place in the Championship.The 22-year-old earned a permanent move to the Stadium of Light after joining on an initial loan and notched 11 goals and 14 assists as Sunderland reached the second-tier play-offs last season.
Clarke’s last spell in the top flight came with Tottenham – but he made just four appearances for the London club after signing from Leeds for aBrentford and Burnley both currently occupy bottom-half spots in the top-flight having picked up seven and four points respectively. Sunderland sit fourth in the Championship despite a heavy 4-0 defeat at home against local rivals Middlesbrough on Saturday .
